Very brief update – October 20, 2017 82

Apologies for not staying in better touch, but we’re just continuing to work our way through the legal system. It’s a slog, but we’re still on the case and feeling positive. We’ve been really reassured by the moral support we get from fans. One grocery chain recently contacted us and said they are ready to take the product in however we get it to them once back in the market. We thank you for this support!

Keep going….I’ve got my chilled butter waiting to go on some delicious RYKRISP! You should make sure that at least one of your attorneys has a real passion for and loves your product!

  • Phyllis Fingerhut

RYKRISP has been a mainstay if my diet for at least 25 years. The kosher market I shop in will be happy to carry it once it’s in the market again. For several years I had to get it from a market about 30 minutes away but I was happy to do it. PLEASE let me know when it will be available again. I’ll be happy to get it on line or anywhere!!!

Phyllis – thanks for putting in a good word with the market. We’re working on getting back. It has been a long and painful saga, but we’re persistent. You’ve signed up on the home page for updates, where you’ll be the first to know of progress? Thx, Ted Leavitt

Fond homefire memory with parental stories of the ‘wartime’ (smooth side with a skiff of butter) and the waffle pattern ‘peacetime’ side that holds globs of cream cheese and jam — and never broke during the ‘dip’ decades that followed. Lived on Ry*Krisp through my college years in the 60s and believe today’s uncomplicated farm-to-table generation that idealize mid-century everything would adopt the product as its own! Huge market for generations to come ~ theme: Go solar – and eat Ry*Krisp!

No need to boycott ConAgra. We had to move the manufacturing to contract manufacturing because they wanted to sell the plant for a fair amount of money (sat next to University of Minnesota). Thanks though for the thought…it makes us smile that there is a reason for doing what we do. Best, Ted

Don’t need them anymore. I figured out how to make my own and there just as good if not better than your old product. I never knew how many I ate until I heard that they had been discontinued. I bought 48 boxes believing this would last 2-3 yrs. Nope this only lasted 9 months. So I took over the kitchen and bought a grain mill as setup my own cracker works. Don’t need em anymore and after a party there all gone, whereas your always had leftovers

As you can see from the updates, our litigation needs to finish before we can make them. Everyone has been great in their support, and we’ve got retailers ready to go as well, but the key is getting our complaint behind us. Thx! Ted Leavitt

I have fond memories of RYKRISP. I loved the flavor and crunch, and my daughter had so many allergies that they were one of the only grain products she could eat.
I am trying to learn how to make a home version, but my baking skills are not legendary! I will keep trying. Fortunately it is not a difficult process. I look forward to the return of your wonderful RYKRISP.

    • tleavitt Post author

Fred – Kudos to you for trying the home version. We’ve learned how the product is made since we bought the brand and two words come to mind – unique and artisanal. It explains why hundreds don’t do it. We will keep you posted. Do sign up for updates if you haven’t done so already. Ted

Keep looking periodically for a restart. Have used since the 1950s when discovered allergy to wheat. Have outgrown thankfully but Ry Krisp is still HIGH on my cracker list!

    Good luck!

I’m this close to my 64th birthday and enjoying RyKrisp, at least one more time, was on my bucket list. Sorry to find out that RyKrisp, as well as Maurice Lenell cookies, are no longer available. I gotta admit that the cookies are purely from nostalgia, much like White Castle sliders. They’re tasty but my tastebuds have matured. However, RyKrisp was, is, and should still be, a hearty-tasting cracker available at all the grocery stores. Ha! Now I know why my grandparents missed certain things that were once ubiquitous. Family-owned bakeries every few blocks is another. Fook a buncha Dunkin Donuts.

I just stumbled on this while trying to find some place to buy RYKRISP! Wonderful product, can’t wait to find them in stores again, best of luck with the courts. Justice is not only blind, sometimes it’s deaf and dumb too. We’ll just hope for the best.

Nothing can replace RyKrisp after all this time my husband and I are remaining loyal AND my local grocer will stock the crackers as soon as you can get them back into production/distribution. Good Luck with the legal battle Your fans will make it worth your time

The zoos were our first customers and who we were producing for when we realized the need to change on manufacturing. They and their patrons are great fans and critical to us. We will be back to them as a first priority when back. Are you in the zoo business? All the best, Ted Leavitt

Mary – rather than us drone on with a long explanation, any of the recent updates on this site can quickly give you the answer as to why we currently on the market. Sign up for updates and we’ll keep you posted. Thx!! Ted Leavitt

Keeping an eye on your progress and hoping for the best. These are the BEST crackers and I am waiting (sigh) patiently for their return.

Dear Mr. Leavitt: My daughter is getting Married 5/2018. We are having a Plated entree selection, thus soup and salads will be presented. Her request and a favorite of ours and many of these guests has always been Ry Krisp as an accompaniment. Unfortunately, our guests will have the standard assorted dinner rolls with butter. Such a shame! Nothing beats Ry Krisp served along a chilled garden salad or steaming bowl of soup. Please resolve this legal blunder prior to my son’s wedding in 2019! Many Thanks and Best of Luck getting this yummy treat back into bakery production! Pamela

  • Margaeet

Please come back to us! I love RyKrisp crackers! I have not found anything that compares. My favorite: Seasoned RYKRISP with plain butter and a salad. For a snack; same cracker with pepperjack cheese!

    • tleavitt Post author

Margaret – Thanks for the impassioned plea. Working on it, but it sure takes time…we had no idea, but such are the wheels of justice. All the best, Ted

Grew up on RYKRISP. Living in SE Arizona I assumed that it was simply not marketed in the area. Finally discovered the unfortunate truth on internet today. Please advise when you are in production. – Scott Woods

  • Cyndi Jackson

Every year at this time our Church groups all over the world look for your Ry Krisp. It is our season and we celebrate
“Unleavened Bread”. This is one of my favorite crackers. Please put a rush on the production.
    Thanks

  • Jon

Where is that RYKRISP sold? My father came from Norway and growing up we often had it with butter and thin slices of sweet brown goat cheese. I can still find the cheese in grocery stores, but no one has the RYKRISP. Why is that?

    • tleavitt Post author

Apologies for repeating an answer from earlier today. ConAgra was taking it off the market in 2015. We bought the brand, had to move production…that took awhile…then the quality situation mandated we shift production…the co-packer took some equipment, and we’ve been fighting a legal battle ever since. Working hard to get back.Thx! Ted Leavitt

  • Spring Rose

Grew up with these in my Finnish family. Too bad they weren’t put on in Health Food Stores like Whole Foods. I can’t find them in East Texas stores. I loved them so much. And so healthy for you.

    • tleavitt Post author

ConAgra and Ralcorp (the prior owners) made plenty of mistakes, mainly forgetting a great brand within a huge company. The comments from consumers underscore what a great brand this is. We continue to work on getting back to where the brand was, starting with getting back to market after the legal situation gets sorted out. Thx! Ted Leavitt

  • Janie

Still waiting, and wanting the seasoned RYKRISP crackers! I keep looking for a substitute, but there simply isn’t one! Wishing you success soon!
    Great product!
    Janie

  • Mary Ann Schwalbach

Well, I didn’t know they were gone. I asked for them at my store and keep looking……I don’t know what’s going on..lawsuit? What? I hope you’re back soon and will sign up for notifications!!!!!!

  • Pamela Zobava

These were our go to for all occasions. So sad they are not available anymore. No other cracker can beat RYKRISP. Please….Please start making them again.

  • Jerri M.

I grew up on RYKRISP And I just love it. My favorite was the seasoned brand and was just perfectly flavored. I really hope you will come back on the market. I miss you so very much!

    • tleavitt Post author

Jerri – Thanks for the kind words. We love them to, and are on the case to get them back. Need to win this case first in order to clear the proverbial decks. All the best, Ted
